Baroness Helena Kennedy QC is practicing law as a barrister – she is a member of the Doughty Street Chambers in London – has been involved in a large number of prominent cases. These include the Brighton Bombing, the Michael Bettany espionage trial, the Guildford Four appeal and the bombing of the Israeli embassy. She has also acted for many battered women who have killed their husbands.

Lord Naren Patel is Honorary Professor at the University of Dundee, Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland. Born in Tanzania he graduated in medicine at the University of St. Andrews, Scotland, in 1964.

Nancy Durrell McKenna, an award-winning photographer and film-maker, has spent most of her professional life documenting the lives, rituals and traditions of women and families around the world.

In recent years her work has focused on the theme of safe motherhood in developing countries.

Ann is an international policy adviser and facilitator specialising in work across health, social care, criminal justice and the voluntary sector. She is a qualified and experienced social worker, teacher and probation officer with degrees in research and management and post-graduate qualifications in economics and social statistics.
